Energy Efficient lighting & Illumination

Background

The importance of energy and energy conservation is well known. There are more than hundred reasons why energy should be conserved just as there are more than thousand ways in which energy can be conserved. All modern technological developments have one aspect in common which is `better energy efficiency'. Lighting & illumination sector is emerging as one of the fastest developing sectors in terms of energy efficiency. It is also one of the most vital sectors which mainly depends on electricity and which has an immense scope for improvement owing to the modern lighting technologies and practices. Lighting & illumination is one utility which is common and to all consumer sectors and hence it is vital target for affecting improvement.

Objective of the Programme

1. To create awareness about Energy Efficiency.
2. To create awareness about efficient lighting system and luminaries.
3. To introduce latest developments in illumination technology.
4. To arrange for demonstration efficient lighting systems available.
5. To motivate potential users - viz. industrial and commercial user, to opt efficient lighting.
6. To understand the trends in luminaries market & to mobilize the market of the modern energy efficient luminaries.

About GEDA

GEDA is a state nodal promoted by the Government of Gujarat for promotion and propagation of non-conventional energy sources and energy conservation. GEDA is responsible for implementing promotional schemes and provides financial support for R&D activities to individuals, R&D Institution, research scholars, etc. GEDA also provides technical support and training to interested entrepreneurs for establishing RE manufacturing, marketing and servicing facilities.

About IREDA

IREDA is established by the Govt. of India for providing financial assistance to various categories of users of RE.

Programme Faculties

Technical presentations will be made by GEDA officials, energy consultants, reputed luminaries manufacturers and presentation of case studies by representative of industries during the Meet.

Participant Profile

This Meet would be very useful for executives from industries, municipal corporations, reputed luminaries manufactures, energy consultants & engineers, practicing architects & interior designers, academicians, students, builders, etc.

Registration

Participation in this Meet is by registration. Registration Fee of Rs. 500/- per participant is chargeable for the Meet which will include breakfast, lunch and programme material. Applications may be sent in the attached Registration Form along with the fees in form of DD drawn in favour of Gujarat Energy Development Agency payable at Vadodara.

Programme Schedule & Venue

The one day Business Meet is scheduled on 20th December 2003 at Hotel Le Meridian Khanpur, Ahmedabad. The programme timing will be 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Exhibition

A small exhibitiion along with Business Meet inside the hotel on Energy Efficient lighting and luminaries is also arranged. The interested manufacturers may participate and display their product by sponsoring Rs 5000/-. Table space will be provided for display and time slot of 15 minutes will be given for presentation of the product.
