GEDA has published several informative pamphlets, leaflets, posters and booklets and published several newsletters and journals and information and educational products on RE sources systems and applications and Energy Conservation. An effort is made to present the material in a readable, user-friendly and attractive format to appeal to the GEDA's mixed reader profile
Renewable Energy users are supported with literature on RE applications and Schemes, operation and maintenance literature, user-manuals, recipe books and technology specific newsletters which attempt to create a network of users for sharing of information and experiences to maximize effective utilisation of the technology.
GEDA has also published or supported the publication of scientific and technical literature by commissioning soft studies, producing case studies and reports of major projects, undertaking the translation of technical literature, available in foreign languages, and supporting the production of technical literature in Gujarati.
The emphasis in Energy Education Publications is participation and local adaptability of the package.
GEDA has initiated several regular publications to service the needs of users at specific phases in the development of the technology. Paryay, a biannual newsletter on Clean Energy Alternatives published in Gujarati and English keeps readers abreast with developments in Renewable Energy. In the pipeline is Urja
talk, a newsletter to promote Energy Education through formal and informal channels.
GEDA has successfully published UrjaPatra, a theme-focused quarterly on RE to build up a database on renewable energy for the lay readers and implementers.
Surya Cooker Patrika and, Firki were focused newsletters specific to
the technology, respectively Solar Cookers and Wind Pumps the Newsletters making
networked with users and encourage information sharing, Samruddhi, was the voice of rural energy initiatives, particularly the Integrated Rural Energy Programme, and was targeted at government and non-government Agency involved in rural development.
GEDA has provided technical readers a Current Awareness Service, a database of articles published in almost 200 primary journals on Energy and allied disciplines. Energy Alert, the by-product of this database was circulated as a monthly service to 2000 readers.
The Information and Communication Units have also been invited to produce Special Issues of Urjabharati, the house journal of the Ministry of Non-conventional Energy Sources. Issues produced by GEDA for MNES are: Wind Energy, Women, Energy and Development and Solar Architecture, Sustainable Designs for Comfortable Space.
