GEDA Subsidy Scheme for Installation of Solar Water Heating Systems for Domestic Application (2008-09)

1. Manufacturers of Domestic Solar Water Heating Systems (SWHS) comprising of standard size (2 m2 area) flat plate collectors (As per IS 12933) registered with GEDA would be covered under the scheme.
2. MNRE approved manufacturer for Evacuated Tube Collector (ETC)) registered with GEDA would also be covered under the Scheme.
3. Subsidy @Rs. 3500/- per collector, for maximum 2 nos. of solar collectors, shall be given under the Scheme. The subsidy amount shall not exceed Rs. 7000/- in any case. Systems comprising of more than 5 nos. of solar collectors shall not be eligible for subsidy under the scheme.
4. GEDA authorized manufacturers of SWHS would only be eligible for subsidy under the Scheme. Applicants would be free to purchase systems from any manufacturer of their choice.
5. Subsidy provision for 2000 SWHS is available for the current year.
6. Applications for Subsidy shall have to be submitted in the prescribed format to GEDA through the authorized manufacturers. Subsidy for only one system would be granted in the name of the applicant as well as the residential premises.
7. Applications would be processed on first come first serve basis.
8. The Applicant shall also give an undertaking to abide by the terms & conditions of the Scheme mentioned in the application form.
9. Since the above scheme is under market mode, manufacturer shall identify the users and install the system at user’s end. After successful installation and commissioning of SWHS, manufacturer shall raise the subsidy claim along with the installation and commissioning certificate issued by user.
10. On receipt of subsidy claim along with the installation and commissioning certificate issued by user, GEDA shall release the subsidy amount to the authorized manufacturers after due site inspection and verification.
11. The system cost would be as per the MRP declared by individual manufacturer and accepted by the applicant.

1. Manufacturer willing to obtain GEDA authorization for manufacture & supply of SWHS under GEDA Subsidy Schemes & Programmes will have to apply to GEDA in prescribed format.
2. Duly filled in Application Form shall have to submitted to GEDA along with requisite information and credentials.

1. GEDA officials will review the details submitted and inspect the manufacturing facilities and infrastructure of the applicant unit if required.
2. The manufacturers who are willing to get authorization under GEDA subsidy scheme, would be required to submit a test report carried out by MNRE approved Regional Test Centers for verification of system performance and technical specification as per BIS/MNRE specifications.
3. The authorization by GEDA shall be subject to yearly review & renewal.
4. It will be mandatory for the renewal of the authorization, manufacturers are required to get test report for performance and verification of the physical parameters every three year and submit a report to GEDA for further renewal.
5. Application form for authorization should be accompanied by Security Deposit of Rs.50000/- in the form of Demand Draft drawn on any Nationalized Bank, ICICI Bank, IDBI Bank, UTI Bank, HDFC Bank in favour of Gujarat Energy Development Agency payable at Gandhinagar. In case of renewal of authorization, Security Deposit of Rs. 50000/- submitted earlier will be retained for the current year.
6. Director GEDA reserves the right to approve or cancel any authorization any time without assigning any reason.
