Gujarat Energy Development Agency (GEDA), the State nodal agency for the implementation of non-conventional energy programmes/ schemes of Ministry of Non-conventional Energy Sources (MNES), Government of India, shall invite the applications from the eligible farmers for the installation of Solar Photovoltaic Water Pumping Systems of Capacity 2 h.p. for irrigation purposes during current year 2002-2003. The scheme shall be implemented by GEDA with MNES, Govt. of India subsidy and State Govt. (GEDA) subsidy under MARKET MODE.

GEDA will issue one time press advertisement covering the districts where water table is high and suitable for installation of Solar Pump for agriculture use. The list of empanelled manufacturers by IREDA will also be given in the advertisement. Application in prescribed format shall be invited from beneficiaries through such empanelled manufacturers and they will be required to certify the suitability of the site.
The application received from beneficiaries through IREDA empanelled manufacturers will be scrutinized by GEDA. Visits to the potential sites will also be made by GEDA. After scrutiny, GEDA will issue beneficiary-wise sanction. Thereafter the manufacturer will supply, install and commission Solar Pump at site. Manufacturer will be requested to give preference of district for implementation.

Each of the installed system will be inspected by GEDA and after satisfactory inspection, the subsidy amount shall be released to the manufacturer. Each system would be under AMC for a period of 8 years after the warranty period of 2 years.
